Dear Families,

It feels like the “good old” Village School days with the sound of cellos and violins resonating in the halls, the Hiland Hall Gardens buzzing with busy hands harvesting vegetables, and classes leaving campus to go apple picking, to VIA Aquarium in Schenectady, and to learn about invasive species in our own backyard at the Mile Around Woods. The value of experiential learning and educating the “whole” student is an essential part of the Village School experience. There’s much research and evidence that points to the value of connecting classroom learning to place-based experiences and engagement in real-world situations for enhancing students’ knowledge and skills, and deepening their joy and gratification in learning. >> Click here to see some of the photos from this week’s field trips and from Hiland Hall Gardens.

The Village School is fortunate to have generous donors that support our school’s mission, and we also have a Business Partners in Education (BPIE) program that helps to make possible our school’s enrichment experiences, such as field trips and Specials programs, including: Art, Music, Nature, Physical Education, and STEM.  BPIE partners include businesses of all sizes that represent a broad swathe of our community. We are now actively reaching out for 2022-2023 partners and encourage you to share this program with any business that might be interested. It’s a win-win for our school and businesses, with partners benefiting from strong year-round promotions, marketing, and recognition within the school and the greater community. Sponsorship levels start as low as $250 for basic benefits, and benefits increase with higher level opportunities. For more information, please visit our BPIE website page at https://vsnb.org/bpie-2022-23

As we move into October, we have some fun community events on tap, including the Village of North Bennington Block Party and our school’s Track and Treat Family Fun Run. You can read about these events below and on our website.

The October breakfast and lunch menu are also online at the following link: https://vsnbfood.abbeygroup.info/menus.aspx

Have a good weekend!
