Dear Families and Staff:
Our school community has a unique opportunity to listen to and learn from Ibram X. Kendi on Wednesday, March 3, from 5-6 p.m. Dr. Kendi is one of America’s most remarkable and leading historians and a strong voice helping to guide America toward becoming antiracist. He is the author of many books that have topped The New York Times bestseller list, including Stamped from the Beginning: The Definitive History of Racist Ideas in America and How to Be an Antiracist.
Learn more about Dr. Kendi’s work on his website.
AISNE (Association of Independent Schools of New England) has partnered with Dr. Kendi to host a webinar titled: “Go Beyond an Awareness of Racism: Contribute to the Formation of a Truly Just and Equitable Society.” All Village School adult members—parents/guardians and staff—can participate in this webinar free of charge. The webinar is not intended for students.
Registration is required using the link above. AISNE will be in touch with all registrants prior to this event with details for accessing Dr. Kendi’s webinar.
Following the webinar, AISNE Community Members are facilitating optional 45-minute conversations for community members to come together, based on their affiliation (as a teacher, staff member, or parent/guardian) with peers from 100+ schools across New England, to reflect together on Dr. Kendi’s message.
