First grade students learning about clouds as part of the Four Winds Nature Institute Program.

Dear Families,
Remarkably, with all the uncertainties we have lived through this year, it’s now looking hopeful that we will make it to the end of the school year together! Next week puts us on the 5-week countdown to the end of school. While there’s much to do between now and then, we are also starting to plan ahead for next year. In order to provide the best educational experience for your student(s) it will help us to know how many students to expect in each class.
We would appreciate your help taking a few minutes to complete this short form (click here for the form) to let us know if your student(s) will be returning to the Village School for the 2021-2022 academic year. Fifth grade families that already responded to our previous inquiry and sixth grade families do not need to complete this form.
Your response would be appreciated by May 14. Thank you!
If you have any questions or concerns about your student’s school experience this year or in thinking about the year ahead, please call me at 802-442-5955 (ext. 201) or email me at tnewbold@vsnb.org.
Wishing all Moms a wonderful Mother’s Day!
Have a good weekend,
Tim Newbold

Pangaea Gift Card Fundraiser:
VSNB parents Nick Disorda and Lani DePonte, owners of Pangaea Restaurant, have put together a great opportunity in appreciation and support of our school. They are generously donating a portion of Pangaea gift card sales to VSNB during the month of May. There are options to dine at Pangaea or order takeout. A flyer and order form will be sent home with students on Monday. Click here for more information and to download an order form.
COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Seeds of Hope
Village School students’ artwork, created as part of the Seeds of Hope project, is on display in the windows of businesses throughout downtown Bennington. The project invited children throughout our region to create a picture of a flower they would like to “plant” in Bennington’s “Garden of Hope.” As Liz Luca, one of the organizers, wrote: “the idea is to encourage our children to, in this time of COVID, to ‘speak’ about their feelings through flowers. This project, working with their hands and creating their flowers, would give the children a ‘voice’ of hope.” Students’ artwork will be visible throughout downtown Bennington during the month of May.
