The 4th grade class visited Park-McCullough Mansion on June 4, 2021. Students dressed as if they were part of the seven generations of the Hall, Park, and McCullough families. Students learned about how they lived in the 22-room house and about how philanthropic they were to the people in the Village of North Bennington. Click here to see more photos.

Dear Families,
A huge THANK YOU to Hiland Hall Gardens, and specifically Sandra Magsamen and Elizabeth Schumacher, for providing our students with a wonderful outdoor experience learning about nature and nutrition in the inspiring Hiland Hall Gardens (HHG)! The students not only learned a lot and had fun, but they also planted a TON of vegetables that will be ready to harvest this fall for the Bennington-area Meals on Wheels program.
Hiland Hall Gardens generously made its 6-week Garden Class possible for our whole school to participate in, and we are grateful for their support. Sandra and Elizabeth put together a downloadable coloring book filled with some of the recipes the classes made and tasted.
Speaking of food, next week’s Meals Menu is available on our website; and, as a reminder, on Thursday, June 10, all classes are having a pizza-party lunch!
A FEW OTHER ITEMS OF NOTE:
–Graduation will take place on Tuesday, June 8, at 6:30 p.m. at the Park-McCullough House. Due to social distancing requirements, attendance will be limited to immediate family members with consideration for “special and honored guests,” such as grandparents. The graduation ceremony will be filmed, and we will send out a message when it is available on the VSNB YouTube Channel for all to enjoy.
-The last day of school will be on Friday, June 11. It is a half day, with pick up at 11:30 a.m.
-Students are invited to join the John G. McCullough Free Library’s Summer Reading Club for Kids! In addition to a robust schedule of free outdoor events and craft kits, children who register and track their reading will be entered into drawings for ten deluxe prize baskets and one grand prize: a one-month Literati Box subscription! All registrants will receive a free book and starter kit. This opportunity is free and all are welcome. Click here for more details.
Lastly, I encourage you to check out the photos posted on our website showing Mrs. Gibbons’ 4th grade students dressed in period costume for the 4th grade class’s annual tour of the Park-McCullough Mansion, which took place today.
Have a great weekend!
