Students participated in a Quads-style Chess Tournament on June 1st at the Village School.

The Village School capped its month-long Chess Residency with Trevor Plizga with a quads-style chess tournament on June 1st. Twenty students from the Village School and other area schools, including Monument Elementary, Bennington Elementary School, and Williamstown Elementary School, participated in the tournament. Congratulations to the following Village School students who were the overall winners of their quad matches: fourth graders Enso, Milo, and Gabrielle; as well as sixth grader Finn.

Students had fun learning about chess and working at getting better at the game each week. Playing the game with their friends in class was motivational for many students who had not had an opportunity to try the game previously.
