Class Notes (September 26-30, 2022)
Learning about invasive species at the Mile Around Woods…
Fifth and sixth grade students had the opportunity to learn about combating invasive species right here in their own backyard! Board member Becky Manning led the fifth graders to the Mile Around Woods to see the Brontosaurus machine in action while sixth graders diligently worked on a Vermont invasive species mini project. Students will apply the logistical facts they learned about the machine and the three weeks it has been at the Mile Around Woods to solve real world math problems next week.
First graders enjoyed apple picking at Terry’s Orchard. Pictured below: they made apple sauce when they returned to school.
Fourth graders learned about aquatic biodiversity at VIA Aquarium.
Fourth graders harvesting beets and making kale pesto at the Hiland Hall Gardens.
Mission
Children are at the heart of all we do. We nurture a child's curiosity, ignite enthusiasm for exploring, develop tools for inquiry, for invention, for achievement. We welcome families into a community-wide collaboration to help our children grow into their best selves - responsible citizens and stewards of the greater world, makers of the future.
