POSTED 11/10/23

Good Morning, Families:

We look forward to welcoming you to this afternoon’s Veterans Day Assembly at 2 p.m. in the school gymnasium. The gymnasium access door will be open at 1:50 p.m. Students and teachers in grades K-6 have put together a thoughtful program of tributes and songs to honor those who have served and those who continue to serve our country in the Armed Forces. After the assembly, students will return to their classes to get their belongings before being dismissed for the end of the school day.

The Village School will have a contingent of faculty and staff members participating in the Veterans Day Parade tomorrow (Saturday, November 11th). For interested families and friends, we will be gathering at 10:30 a.m. at Benn High (650 Main Street). Parking will be limited, so please plan accordingly (and please keep in mind that students must be accompanied by an adult). The parade will conclude with a ceremony at the Veterans Home.

I wish you a meaningful and restful weekend ahead.

Warm regards,
Tim

P.S. Please stop by the school lobby to check out the lost-and-found racks. They are overflowing, and all items will be donated on Wednesday, November 15. Also, if your child painted a pumpkin at Track and Treat and it is in the school lobby, please feel free to take it home. We will be composting those that do not get picked up by Thursday, Nov. 16th.
