Track and Treat – Congratulations, gratitude, and photos!
Village School Physical Education Teacher Laura Cary sent out “a huge thank you” to all the participants in the Fun Run and 5K. “It fills my heart with joy to see so many young runners participating with families and friends,” said Ms. Cary. We appreciate all of the contributions from the many staff and family members who helped to make this event a success (rain and all!). Picture Retake Day – Wednesday, November 8th

Thanksgiving Lunch with Students – RSVP by Wednesday, November 8th
Family members are invited to join their student(s) for lunch at the Village School on Thursday, November 16th. Village School students eat for free. The cost for each child guest and each adult guest is $5. Lunch will be served to each class at their regularly scheduled lunch times (times are listed on the invitation). The RSVP form must be returned to your student’s teacher or the school office by Wednesday, November 8th. Shrek the Musical, Jr. Student/Parent Informational Night – Wednesday, November 8th at 5:30 p.m.
Students in grades 4-6 who are interested in being in Shrek the Musical, Jr. must attend the musical informational night on Wednesday, November 8th at 5:30 p.m. in the school library. At the informational meeting, parents/guardians and students will be given a copy of the rehearsal schedule with an explanation as to student and parent/guardian responsibilities. Veterans Day Observed – Friday, November 10th (school will be open and a Veterans Day Assembly will take place at 2 p.m. in the school gymnasium)
The Village School believes that it is an important part of our responsibility as an educational institution to teach students about history and civics and to honor the service of our country’s Veterans. Classrooms will have age-appropriate lessons and discussions around Veterans Day, and there will be an all-school assembly in the school gymnasium at 2 p.m. Family members and friends are encouraged to join us for the assembly and to invite veterans from any branch of the United States Armed Forces to attend the assembly and enjoy tributes and songs.
The Veterans Day Parade – Saturday, November 11th
Please join the Village School as we participate in the Veterans Day Parade in Bennington. All students must be accompanied by an adult. We will meet at 10:30 a.m. at Benn High (650 Main Street). Parking is expected to be limited, so please plan accordingly. The parade starts at Benn High and ends with a ceremony at the Vermont Veterans Home.
Family Game Night – Friday, November 17th, 6-8 p.m. in the school gymnasium
Bring your family and a favorite board game to the Village School’s Game Night! This is a FREE event, sponsored by families of the 4th grade class. Snacks will be provided.
MAYAA Basketball 2023/24 registration for grades 1-6 ends this weekend:
The Berkshire Family YMCA is now partnering with MAYAA for its basketball program. Sign up your child by November 4 to take part in this wonderful youth program to develop skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, and the love of the game. Not interested in basketball? JISP and KAP 2023/24 Registration Now Open – Register by Nov. 25th
The Junior Instructional Ski Program (JISP) and Kids Alpine Program (KAP) applications are Open. The deadline for applications is November 25, 2023.
