Many Village School students enjoyed the sweet treat of decorating gingerbread houses this holiday season!
Dear Families:
Winter break is around the corner, and the excitement of the holiday season is evident in every classroom, where students have rightly traded some academic time for singing carols, writing cards and crafting gifts, and decorating gingerbread houses. Students and staff are a bright sight to see today, with many wearing some of the tackiest and most creative ugly sweaters I have ever seen! They say a picture is worth 1,000 words: I encourage you to check out the photos on our website, and enjoy the smiles inspired by the Village School’s first annual Ugly Sweater Day!
One final note: Today, I sent home an important letter (the letter can be read online by clicking here) about our school’s hope to change our COVID-19 procedure from having to shut down a classroom when there is a COVID-19 exposure in school to instead making it possible for students to safely remain in school for in-person learning in the new year. It will be critical to have the support and participation of as many of our families as possible to make this happen.
Have a good weekend!
Tim
P.s. COVID-19 Surveillance Testing will take place on Monday, December 20, because school will be closed for the Winter Break starting on Wednesday, which is our usual testing day. As a reminder, the Winter Break runs from Wednesday, December 22 – Friday, December 31, 2021. We resume school on Monday, January 3, 2022, and we will do COVID-19 Surveillance Testing on this day, as well.
