Dear Families,
This week students in grades 2-6 participated in an inter-classroom Science Fair and had the opportunity to develop their understanding of the scientific method—one of the most important educational tools there is. It is a process for learning about and understanding the world around them. Some of the scientific questions students asked were silly and some profound, but the key is sparking curiosity and helping them develop their higher-order thinking skills of learning to ask the right questions.
Looking ahead, SAVE THE DATE of Saturday, May 20th, for a celebration of the Village School’s 10-year anniversary as an independent school. A community-wide celebration will take place from 3-5 p.m. with loads of fun activities for kids, music, and carnival treats. There will also be a gathering for former students of the North Bennington Graded School and High School from 1:30-3 p.m. and an ice cream social for former students who attended the Village School between 2013 and 2022. Please spread the word! Share the event via Facebook, and more information is posted at this link: https://vsnb.org/celebration-5-20-23/. If you have any questions, email alumni@vsnb.org.
Enjoy the April break and this weekend’s beautiful spring weather! We look forward to seeing students back at school on April 24th.
Warm regards,
Tim
