Dear Families,
As a reminder, tomorrow (Friday, May 12) is a half-day for students, with dismissal at 11:30 a.m.
The first week of Cognia assessments for our 3rd and 4th graders went smoothly. The fifth and sixth graders will begin their assessments on Monday, May 15. Please click here for the Village School’s testing schedule and for more information about the Cognia assessments.
Next week is the Village School’s first-ever Spirit Week (from May 15-19) and I am happy to share that this is a student-created initiative led by fifth graders Zelva and Penny. They met with me in the fall to discuss their interest in bringing students and staff together for a fun week of dressing up and showing our school pride. Zelva and Penny talked to all of the classes about their plans and sent home a flier with students this week. >> Click here to see the flier for more details on what is planned for each day. On Tuesday, May 16, students and staff are asked to wear their school T-shirts. If your child does not have one or needs a new size, they can be purchased at the office for $10 each.
We chose next week for Spirit Week as a special lead-up to the Village School’s 10th Anniversary Celebration and alumni gatherings, which will be taking place at the school on May 20th.
I look forward to celebrating with the students next week!
Have a good evening,
Tim
