Dear Families:

Get ready, get set, IT’S TIME TO BID! The Village School’s Spring Online Auction Fundraiser opens TODAY at 5 p.m. Check out the auction site at www.32auctions.com/VSNB2022. The auction is loaded with a ton of terrific offers both big and small—from fun experiences with Village School faculty and staff members to summer camp experiences and gift certificates for kids’ birthday parties, restaurants, artwork, and much more!

We’d love your help sharing the auction website with friends and family via your social media. It’s our school’s only fundraiser this year supporting classroom activities, field trips, and enrichment activities—and our goal is to raise at least $8,000. The online auction site will be open for bidding through May 27th (ends at midnight).

TOMORROW, Saturday, May 14th, the Vermont Arts Exchange-Village School ALL-Student Art Show will be taking place at the Left Bank Gallery (5 Bank St., North Bennington) from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.. Park at the Village School and walk over to see your students’ amazing art pieces.

After enjoying student artwork, check out the auction items at the school gym from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Each classroom’s themed basket will be on display, along with North Bennington Graded School wooden chairs hand painted by students. While perusing the auction items, enjoy delicious baked goods and kids can get their faces painted for free. In addition, the 4th grade students will be holding a Perennials and Sunflower Plants Sale to support Ukraine efforts.

I wish I could end today’s message without mentioning COVID-19. Unfortunately, our region is still rated as having a high level of community transmission, and we will continue HIGHLY RECOMMENDED optional masking at our school. If students or family members test positive, it is recommended that you notify the state by calling 802-863-7240 or by going to this Vermont Department of Health website: https://survey.alchemer.com/s3/6507748/Vermont-COVID-19-Self-Test-Result-Reporting-Form

The VT Department of Health remains an excellent resource, and more information on COVID-19 can be found here: https://www.healthvermont.gov/covid-19

Lastly, as the spring temperatures increase, we are reminding students to drink plenty of water. Please remind them to bring their water bottles to school. Thank you!

Enjoy the beautiful weather!

Warm regards,

Tim
