It was wonderful to see so many students, families, and staff enjoying the all-school BBQ this week.   • The Village School’s 2024-2025 calendar is available on the school website. Click here for the calendar. 
  • Tuesday, June 11: Sixth Grade Graduation at Park–McCullough Historic Governor’s Mansion at 6:30 p.m. 
  • Wednesday, June 12: The last day of school will include an assembly and circuit track, with dismissal at 11:30 a.m. Physical Education Teacher Laura Cary is sending home a note to let families know that the circuit track activities may include water, paint, shaving cream, or other messy items. Students are encouraged to wear their Village School T-shirts and/or clothing that can get wet and dirty. It will be fun!
  • Wednesday, June 12: Half-day Aftercare with The Berkshire Family YMCA (BFYMCA). The cost is $25 and parents can register using this link:
  • Yearbooks are on sale at the school office. Each yearbook is $19 and can be purchased with cash or a check made payable to VSNB.

  • Swiftie Party at the John G. McCullough Free Library on Friday, June 7th at 3:30 p.m. Bring your besties and be ready to make stuff, eat, laugh, and beat your friends at Tay-Tay trivia! Hosted by Youth Advisory Council and designed for students grades 4-8. 
  • Summer Jam Free Family Fun Day on Saturday, June 22 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Willow Park Lower Pavilion. Presented by Sunrise Family Resource Center and the Vermont Arts Exchange. Enjoy live party music for kids and adults with Dan Costello & Dragon’s Breath, Performance with Crossover Cloggers, Bennington Disc Golf Club Demo, Hula Hooping, Art Making, Games, Free Photo Booth, Bike Hub, Big Trucks, and 15 community partner activity booths.  Sponsored by The Bank of Bennington and The Bennington Banner. 
  • Bennington Aces’ Summer Tennis Camp at Bennington College for students in grades 3-9 starting on June 24th. Sign up for a weekly camp with six sessions available; it runs Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost for the summer programs is $275 per week for students. Scholarships are available for families in need. Registration forms are available at the Village School office and you can also reach out to Bennington ACES Executive Director Sandy Foster at with questions or for a registration form. 
  • Camp Green Mountain: Outgoing K-8th Berkshire Family YMCA. From arts and crafts to STEM, games and character education, a Y day camp experience offers kids the chance to learn new things and enjoy new adventures. Campers will swim twice a week.   • Registration is Open for Sage Street Mill’s Arts & Wellness Camp, with 1-week camps from June 24 – Aug. 2. For kids 6-12 to make art, swim,  hike, garden, explore, and play. Email or visit
  • Soccer for Pre-K thru 6th Grade – Registration opens on May 15 and closes July 22nd
    If you have a child entering Pre-K through 6th grade in the fall, they are eligible to play on a Southshire Youth Soccer team. The league is designed to put kids first and winning and egos second. It is meant to be a fun, engaging team opportunity for kids to learn about soccer and enjoy the game. If your child hasn’t played in the past but would like to try soccer, you are encouraged to sign them up. Players must be at least 4 years old by September 1st. Registrations cannot be accepted after July 22nd.

  • Annie and the Natural Wonder Band performing at Park-McCullough Governor’s Mansion on Friday, July 12, 2024, from 3 to 6 p.m. Prospect Street Writers House, Park-McCullough Historic Governor’s Mansion, The Village School of North Bennington, and the John G.
