Dear Village School Families,
This is an important announcement that school will NOT be open for in-person instruction this week. We will begin distance learning starting tomorrow, Monday November 30 through Friday, December 4. This change is in keeping with a decision the Southwest Vermont Supervisory Union made earlier this evening.
Going to distance learning this week will, as the SVSU stated: “allow our community the opportunity to see if there is an increase in COVID-19 cases following any gatherings which may have happened during the Thanksgiving holiday.” The safety of our students, staff, and families is our highest priority, and as the pandemic intensifies we think it is best to err on the side of caution.
We understand how difficult it can be for families, especially our working families, to do distance learning and we thank you for your flexibility and continued support through these challenging times.
Further communication will be coming directly from your classroom teachers regarding the plan for the week.
Meals will be available for pickup at Mt. Anthony Union Middle School and delivered via modified van routes as normal. For more information on free meals for students and for the delivery routes, click here. The menu for November 30 – December 13 is available by clicking here.
Warm regards,
Tim Newbold
