Ira HancockIra Hancock became the Reading Specialist at the Village School of North Bennington in 2017. He is an experienced independent school reading and student success coordinator with the following five post-baccalaureate certifications: Schools’ Attuned, Profile Advisor, Spiritual Strengths Healing, Life Bound Academic and Self-Esteem Elevation Coach. Prior to moving to Vermont, he was the former Student Enhancement and Faculty Enrichment Director of Aspen Country Day School, in Colorado. He has participated in literacy seminars at Marie Carbo’s National Reading Styles Institute and at the National Dyslexia Research Foundation and was added to the Past International Dyslexia Association President C. Wilson Anderson’s list of Education Consultants of the Midwest Inc. from 1999-2013. Mr. Hancock has been a guest contributor to “SOAR” learning parent newsletter, a professional member of the Association of Educational Therapists and a subscriber in the Academy of Orton Gillingham practitioners and Educators. He was an honors graduate from Mount Saint Mary College and an Aquinas Scholar. He tutors privately as a Quantum Learning facilitator. When not at work, Mr. Hancock is a movie enthusiast and an avid reader of educational best practices.
