Dear Families,
Today’s eblast is a video announcement. Please click on this VSNB YouTube link to watch the video.
In the video, I explain more about an important new mitigation effort our school will be taking to provide an extra layer of protection to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our school and community. We are participating in the COVID-19 Surveillance Testing Program, which is being offered through the Agency of Education and implemented by our school. Today we emailed out and sent home a letter with students explaining more about the program. It is also available on our website at this link: https://vsnb.org/covid-surveillance-testing/. This program is free and will be available for all K-6 students whose parents/guardians provide consent.
Please listen to the video and read the letter for more information. We are strongly encouraging everyone’s participation—all students and staff members.
Navigating the current back-to-school guidelines after the COVID-19 exposures raised a lot of questions this week. We are thankful that Dr.Trey Dobson, MD, Chief Medical Officer, Southwestern Vermont Medical Center, provided a helpful FAQ that is available on our website at this link: https://vsnb.org/covid19-return-to-school-info-2021/.
My sincerest thanks to all of you for helping to keep our school safe and your student(s) in school and for your support during this challenging time.
Have a good weekend,
Tim
P.S. As a reminder, next week there will be a half day on Friday, September 24. Students will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m. The YMCA After Care program will be available. Click here to sign up for the After Care program. Bagged lunches will be available for students who place an order next week.
