Students, families, and staff went all out for Book Day and the Fantastic Friday assembly that took place on March 1, 2019! Thanks to everyone who participated, and congratulations to all on some really great “favorite book character” costumes—all of which were on display in a parade during Fantastic Friday.
Head of School Tim Newbold, dressed as Mr. Brown, talked about his own journey into reading and how reading a book opens “new worlds” for us. He read several books: Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You? By Dr. Seuss; We Are in a Book! (An Elephant and Piggie Book) by Mo Willems; and Blue Sky White Stars written by Sarvinder Naberhaus and illustrated by Kadir Nelson.
Toward the conclusion of the assembly, students joined their reading partners to enjoy a book together.
Stay tuned for more exciting literacy events during National Reading Month (March).
