DECEMBER 2018 ANNOUNCEMENTS & EVENTS

NOW UNTIL DEC. 11: PLEASE DONATE GIFTS AND WRAPPING SUPPLIES TO THE HOLIDAY BAZAAR. The collection bin is located next to the school’s main office. More information about the purpose of the Holiday Bazaar and what’s needed are on the school’s website at https://vsnb.org/holiday_bazaar. Volunteers are needed to set up the Holiday Bazaar on Dec. 11 at 3 p.m. and to wrap students’ gifts on Dec. 12 from 8 a.m. -12:30 p.m. Please email friends@vsnb.org or call 442-5955 to help.

FRIENDS OF THE HILAND HALL GARDENS (FHHG) NEEDS YOUR HELP APPLYING FOR A GRANT.  FHHG, which partners with the Village School for the Garden Program, has the opportunity to be get a VESCU We Care 2 Grant. Community support is a deciding factor in the award process, and the award will help make our Garden Program even better! Please consider writing a note of support about the positive impact the Hiland Hall Garden Program has had on your student(s). If you’d like to post a direct comment from your student, this is great, too! Go to www.vsecu.com/articles/friends-of-hiland-hall-garden and scroll to the bottom where it asks for a comment. Please note that you will need to have a Facebook account in order to comment.

NOW UNTIL DEC. 20: The Second Grade is collecting food for  St. John’s Food Shelf. The collection bin is set up in the school’s lobby.

OVERDUE LIBRARY BOOKS: Please be aware that the Village School sends electronic notices when your students’ books are 2 weeks overdue. They can renew them; they just need to bring them to the library and ask to renew them.

HELP PLAN THE SCHOOL’S INDOOR WINTER CARNIVAL, which will be held on January 26! Contact co-chairs Tammy Carpenter and Rachel Maher at 802-442-5955 or tammycarpenter@vsnb.org.

Dec. 7 – PROGRESS REPORTS will be sent home with students. Teachers will be reaching out directly regarding scheduling parent-teacher conferences.

Dec. 11 – THE STRINGS PROGRAM HOLIDAY CONCERT will take place at 6:30 p.m. with a reception to follow. Please contact Kim Post (kimelizabeth1111@gmail.com) if you can contribute to the reception. Healthy snacks and treats, as well as paper goods, are needed!

Dec. 12 – THE HOLIDAY BAZAAR is an annual favorite event for students as they take time out of the school day to enjoy shopping for loved ones while raising money for charity.

Dec. 19 – SCHOOL-WIDE HOLIDAY LUNCH! Please return the winter holiday luncheon flier with your RSVP by Wed., Dec. 12
