Physical Education Teacher Laura Cary introduced students in grades K-6 to pickleball noting its growing popularity among all ages. Ms. Cary said that students in grades K-2 “learned the basics of manipulating short-handled implements like a pickleball paddle,” and students in grades 3-6 “learned how to play the game of pickleball, including how to keep score and be a referee.” They even participated in a tournament; the prize for which was—you guessed it—pickles! Ms. Cary commented that “the skills learned in pickleball can be transferred to other net games, such as tennis, badminton, and table tennis”—and she was happy the students had fun learning this sport (as you can see from the photos on our website).
