Volunteering at the Village School

Volunteers are essential to the success of any school, and the Village School is no exception. The school depends on parents, relatives, alumni and community members for support and to help the school  thrive as a hub for growth and learning. We welcome and encourage volunteers to share their time, energy and talents and to model the importance of service within the community.

The following are just a sampling of the ways that community members can volunteer at VSNB:

  • Helping with Friends of the Village School activities and fundraisers (FVS maintains an email list and notifies “Friends” of current needs and opportunities; if you would like to add your email address to the list, please contact friends@vsnb.org.)
  • Giving of your time as a reading partner for students who need a little extra assistance
  • Assisting as an after-school tutor and helping students with home work
  • Aiding the office with administrative support (e.g. mailings, data entry, etc.)
  • Volunteering in the library
  • Becoming a Four Winds Nature Program volunteer.  (Please contact jbrower@vsnb.org for more information on serving as a Four Winds volunteer.)

If you’d like to participate in one of the listed activities or have an interest beyond what’s noted here, please contact us at 802-442-5955 or info@vsnb.org.

Mission

Children are at the heart of all we do. We nurture a child's curiosity, ignite enthusiasm for exploring, develop tools for inquiry, for invention, for achievement. We welcome families into a community-wide collaboration to help our children grow into their best selves - responsible citizens and stewards of the greater world, makers of the future.
