November 6, 2020
Dear Families,
As a reminder, school will be closed for Veterans Day next Wednesday, November 11, and there will NOT be distance-learning instruction. If you or a member of your family has served in any branch of the United States Armed Forces, we at the Village School extend our appreciation and deep gratitude for your commitment to our country.
Thanksgiving Planning
The Village School’s Thanksgiving break will be from Monday, November 23 – Friday, November 27. We understand that families are trying to make decisions about whether to host family and friends or to travel and gather with loved ones. We also recognize that it can be hard to balance the risk of getting sick with COVID-19 and our longing for in-person connection and having traditional holiday celebrations. We are grateful for the many changes and sacrifices that families have already made to stop the spread of COVID-19 in our community, and we thank you for continuing to make safe choices about travel and gathering this holiday season. While the Vermont Department of Health (VT DOH) does not recommend travel during the holidays, they have issued the following suggestions if you are planning to travel or host visitors from out of state:
• Check the Vermont’s Cross-State Travel Map to find out the risk of COVID-19 infection at your destination and/or in the region from which guests are coming to visit you.
• Decide if the risk is worth it for your family.
• Plan to have a safe trip or gathering, remain flexible and get your flu shot and quarantine when you return. Quarantine in Vermont means staying home for 14 days or 7 days followed by a negative COVID-19 test.
More helpful information from the VDOH about understanding the risks of travel and making informed decisions is available on our website at this link: https://vsnb.org/covid-19-holiday-travels.

Meals Delivery for Students – Modified Routes
