Dear Families,

Our thanks to so many families for already completing the school’s Thanksgiving Community Commitment. We have all made significant sacrifices during this pandemic, and we appreciate everyone’s ongoing support in helping to keep our community healthy and safe. If you have not already done so, please use this Google form to submit your Thanksgiving Community Commitment.  We need everyone’s response by Tuesday, November 17.

After a week in which COVID-19 rates continued to rise throughout the country and Vermont experienced its most rapid case growth since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Governor Phil Scott announced today a series of new restrictions to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

Calling the moment a “tipping point” for the state, Governor Scott issued an addendum to his executive order, effective 10 p.m. Saturday, that details a temporary ban on social gatherings, the closure of bars and social clubs and the suspension of all recreational sports programs and requires compliance with the state’s contact tracing efforts. Click here to read Governor Scott’s press release about the new mitigation efforts.

While these new mitigation efforts will require continued sacrifice on the part of every family, there is still much promise ahead with this week’s announcements of a vaccine and antibody treatment on the horizon. Let’s do everything we can until then to safeguard our community and keep providing education, enrichment, and enjoyment for our kids here at school.

Wishing everyone a healthy and safe weekend,

Tim Newbold
