Dear Families,

Starting tomorrow, students who want to order meals for the weekend can do so. The meals are free and include two breakfasts and two lunches. Students need to place their orders with their classroom teacher by Friday morning at 8:40 a.m. Orders will be given to students to take home Friday afternoon. Please be sure to refrigerate the meals as soon as students get home. This weekend’s menu is available at this link: https://vsnb.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/VSNB-Menu-for-the-Third-Week.pdf.

The breakfast and lunch menu for the week of September 28-October 2 is now available. Click here to download the menu.

Students who want to order breakfast and lunch for the Wednesday Distance Learning day will need to place their orders with their teachers on Tuesday morning.

As we head into the weekend, please keep in mind that if anyone in your household travels to a “yellow” or “red” location, where rates of active cases are considered high (as indicated on the State of Vermont Agency of Commerce and Community Development website map)—or if your household has visitors from a location other than those counties with low rates of active cases—it will be necessary to keep your student home from school to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our school community. The map showing the counties with low rates versus high rates of active cases is now updated every Tuesday and is available at this link: https://accd.vermont.gov/covid-19/restart/cross-state-travel. VSNB students, families and staff are expected to adhere to the Vermont Department of Health’s travel and quarantine guidance: https://www.healthvermont.gov/response/coronavirus-covid-19/traveling-vermont. Also, anyone traveling to or from Vermont via public transportation (plane, train, bus) needs to quarantine. The quarantine guidelines are explained on the VT Travel site.

A fun local event to look forward to is the annual North Bennington Outdoor Sculpture Show (NBOSS). It will take place next weekend on Saturday, October 3, from 12 noon until 4 p.m. It will be a family-friendly COVID-19 safe community event for children and families to view sculptures and enjoy an artists’ reception, including food, drinks, and live music. Here’s a link to the NBOSS invitation: https://vsnb.org/nboss-10-3-20/

Wishing you and yours a good end of the week and weekend ahead!

Warm regards,

Tim Newbold
