Before-School Program & Breakfast
The Village School opens the gymnasium doors at 7:30 a.m. for early arrival/morning gym and has staff coverage, free of charge, M-F. Breakfast is available in the gymnasium/cafeteria starting at 7:45 a.m.
After-School Program
The Berkshire Family YMCA (BFYMCA) manages the After School Program at the Village School of North Bennington.

After Care with the BFYMCA offers children a welcoming and engaging place to spend the afternoon with friends while exploring new interests and enjoying plenty of time to play. Activities may include indoor and outdoor play, arts and crafts, movement and cooperative games, creative projects, STEM and enrichment activities, homework assistance, and special activities with guest presenters and visiting workshop leaders. With a balance of active play, creativity, exploration, and social time, After Care with the BFYMCA provides children with opportunities to build friendships, develop independence, and simply have fun in a supportive and caring environment. The experienced staff provide high-quality programs that adhere to best practices and safety protocol.
Details about the 2026-2027 BFYMCA After Care Program at the Village School:
- BFMCA After Care operates Monday-Friday on scheduled school days from 3-5 p.m. starting on Sept. 8.
- BFYMCA After Care will be available for scheduled half-days.
- Students in grades K-6 (up to age 12) are eligible to participate.
- The cost is $107 per week per student. Payment will be required for the full week, even if a student does not attend every day that week. There will not be an option to pay by the individual day, except for possibly half-days.
- Vouchers are offered through the state of Vermont; and financial aid may be available even if a voucher is not received. More details regarding financial assistance are posted below.
