Sawyer Smith joined the Village School team in 2026 as a Speech & Language Aide. He attended the school as a student from grades K-6 and has since remained a part of the community through volunteering both in and out of the classroom. In 2025 he joined the Parent-Teacher Group and has contributed to the orchestration of events such as Movie Night, Game Night, and the Village School Carnival. A senior in the 2026-27 school year at Mount Anthony Union, Sawyer has worked for nearly two years as a School Age Counselor with the Bennington YMCA and has spent the majority of this time doing aftercare at the Village School. In addition to high school, he has pursued the Early College program at the Community College of Vermont and is working towards an Associate of Arts degree, with plans to further his education elsewhere.

He is a North Bennington resident of eleven years, an avid writer, and an enthusiast of the outdoors whose time with the school has shaped his character greatly.
