Rachel Maher is the Assistant Head of School at the Village School of North Bennington. She has been serving the school community in many capacities since 2015. As the Assistant Head of School, Mrs. Maher’s role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including all aspects of Human Resources management, employee relations, and assisting the Head of School with strategic planning, professional development for school personnel, and student behavior intervention and discipline.
Mrs. Maher deeply believes in the importance of lifelong learning. As such, she holds a Master of Education from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA), a Master of Fine Arts from Goddard College, a Bachelor of Arts from MCLA, and an Associate of Arts from Community College of Vermont (CCV).
Prior to her work at the Village School, Mrs. Maher worked locally in both VT and MA in the field of Human Resources. Over the years, she has also worked as a Composition & Literature Instructor at both MCLA and CCV. She has also previously served as a writing/literature tutor and as a writing camp director for preteens and teens in the Berkshires. An avid writer and poet herself, Mrs. Maher is currently working on a novel and occasionally publishes essays, short stories, and poetry.
