Sherry Schwarz joined the Village School team in 2017 and has served in a variety of capacities including communications and marketing, community outreach, and, most recently, in admissions and advancement. Prior to working for the Village School, she was the Publications Manager and Website Content Director for the Educational Travel Conference and Community for seven years and the Publisher of Transitions Abroad Magazine for five years. Her passion for cross-cultural education was sparked at Middlebury College, where she earned a B.A. in English literature and minors in creative writing and anthropology/sociology. After graduating from college, she started the non-profit Abroad View Foundation with partner colleges and universities and served as publisher for its global education magazine for more than 10 years. Mrs. Schwarz and her husband, David Jareckie, have two children, both of whom attend the Village School. They live in Bennington with their dog, cat, and chickens. In her spare time, Mrs. Schwarz loves cooking, gardening, reading, traveling, and spending time in nature!
Mission
Children are at the heart of all we do. We nurture a child's curiosity, ignite enthusiasm for exploring, develop tools for inquiry, for invention, for achievement. We welcome families into a community-wide collaboration to help our children grow into their best selves - responsible citizens and stewards of the greater world, makers of the future.
